A kick-off workshop for the 8^th EIG CONCERT-Japan call on Sustainable Hydrogen Technology as Affordable and Clean Energy was organized by the Slovakian Academy of Sciences (SAS) online on December 8, 2022.

The workshop was chaired by Dr. Gülfeza Kardas (TUBITAK), former member of the Scientific Committee of the call, and moderated by the EIG CONCERT-Japan Program Secretary, Ms. Lea Debraux. In total, almost 40 project researchers, Scientific Committee members and funding agency officers participated in the workshop.

The workshop presented an opportunity for the researchers to give presentations of their research, as well as key goals and potential challenges. The six research teams presented their work and answered questions from other participants for about 20 minutes per team.

The workshop featured lively discussions between the participants. Some of the research teams emphasized the value of organizing face-to-face workshops in the future to facilitate networking and the identification of potential collaborations.
